Testimonials

Below are just a few people that the Forces Transition Group have helped secure permanent civilian employment since leaving the Armed Forces. Their words, completely unedited by ourselves!

Can’t thank you enough for the help with my CV I wouldn’t have got to the interview stage for that job without your help as I had applied for it before the new year and heard nothing back, even though it wasn’t 100% finished I updated my application with the CV we were working on and got email back today confirming an interview for Monday morning.

You do not start to dig a well when you want a glass of water. Too many leave it late to build their networks and think about what they want to do next. I planned my transition 4 years before I left the services. I am delighted the Forces Transition Group are able to help servicemen in their transition plans so effectively.

I am happy to announce that after a rollercoaster of a resettlement process, I have been successful in securing employment! I would like to thank John Stephenson from the Forces Transition Group for the advice and support they have given me and for helping me get my CV to a good standard.

For any of my serving connections serving or leaving, I strongly recommend that you spare a little time for a conversation with John Stephenson.
We all know that Service People and Veterans are resilient, adaptable and determined but we don’t always communicate it in a way that comes across well, in what we call another world.
Not only did the FTG help me with CV writing, it has helped me with my day to day communication skills in the workplace.

Having been in the military since I was 17 years old, I must admit I am very excited but also apprehensive about the future. I have just started the transition with an amazing workshop through the Forces Transition Group and John Stephenson. Not only do I feel more confident, but I also know now that there are great people out there who support service leavers. 18 months to go but I feel I am beginning to own my future.

Your CV example was a huge help for me. When I read it now, I can already see what a massive difference it makes. Thankyou for also going out of your way and putting me in touch with people and companies. I am already feeling more positive and with this new CV, I already have 3 telephone interviews for jobs that I actually want! Many thanks.

I’ve a fair amount of time before I can officially start a career outside of the British Army but networking helps to give a much warmer and more comfortable feeling about getting out and that there are opportunities on offer. Networking is important, and seeking the help and advice from people like John Stephenson at FTG.

I just wanted to pass on my thanks for your help with my CV in the last month.
Your personal assistance in helping me to develop my CV, matched by your thorough understanding of how recruiting is conducted within organisations was a complete game-changer. My success in applications has skyrocketed and I am now in a fortunate position where a number of different businesses are looking to offer me roles. I wish I had got in touch with you sooner, especially when I was leaving the Armed Forces. I strongly recommend your knowledge and service to my friends and colleagues, especially those who are leaving or just left the Armed Forces.
Please feel free to use this feedback, I cannot recommend your assistance enough.

I feel extremely proud and good now which means I can concentrate on my main effort and plan for any resettlement courses prior to termination.  I am permitted to do any resettlement courses up to 2 years of leaving but would like to get any done, sooner rather than later.

I have taken down the important notes and links from your expert and extremely knowledgeable CV meeting.  I am extremely confident that I am now proficient and can amend the CV when necessary to input the relevant key words and elements.

I am also going to peruse the FTG website to ascertain if there are more key elements which I can complete.

Last but not least, it has been an absolute pleasure meeting and working with you, genuinely.  You have encouraged and nurtured me substantially both mentally and  psychologically, and will be eternally extremely grateful.

Regards my good man, stay safe and bold.
